79% of Brazilians support banning online betting for participants in Desenrola.

Genial/Quaest released a survey this Wednesday (May 13th) showing that 79% of Brazilians agree with restricting betting on " bets " for those who join the Novo Desenrola Brasil program. This federal debt renegotiation program stipulates that participants must refrain from online betting for one year . Only 16% of voters opposed the measure.
The survey polled 2.004 voters aged 16 and over between May 8 and 11. The margin of error is two percentage points, with a 95% confidence level.

Support cuts across different political segments.
Among voters who identify as "Lula supporters," 81% approve of the ban. The percentage of support reaches 87% among non-Lula left-wing voters. Meanwhile, "independent" voters registered 80% agreement with the restriction.
Among non-Bolsonaro right-wing voters, 76% are in favor of the measure. Among Bolsonaro supporters, support was at 68%. This group showed the highest rejection rate to the ban, with 28% opposed.
The survey also measured the approval rating of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's government. The approval rating stood at 46%, while disapproval reached 49%. These figures represent an improvement compared to the previous survey, conducted in April, when disapproval was at 52% and approval at 43%.
Election polls often point to divergences between supporters of Lula and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), both potential candidates for the Presidency of the Republic in 2026. The regulation of online betting has emerged as a point of convergence between different segments of the electorate.

New Unravel
Quaest also inquired about Novo Desenrola, a federal government program aimed at tackling the high level of debt among the population.
The “Desenrola 2.0” program reached the attention of 57% of those interviewed, while 43% were unaware of the initiative, launched by the Lula administration earlier this month.
According to the research, 50% believe the program is a good idea and will help people get out of debt, while 22% think it helps a little but doesn't solve the debt problem. A further 23% consider it a bad idea because it encourages people to take on more debt.
Election
According to the Genial/Quaest poll, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's government is disapproved of by 49% of Brazilians and approved by 46%. Disapproval has decreased compared to the previous poll in April, when the rate was 52%. Approval was at 43%.
