Araxá takes the lead and positions itself to attract casinos and new investors.

Araxá may soon add a new high-end attraction: casinos integrated into large developments. With the approval of a bill at the end of August, the municipality positions itself among the first in the country prepared to receive this type of investment, anticipating the federal regulation of the activity.
The proposal recognizes the economic and tourism potential of the region and paves the way for ventures capable of boosting tourism, expanding job creation, and strengthening municipal revenue. With experience already established in international tourist centers, integrated casinos typically generate positive impacts throughout the entire production chain: hotels, restaurants, commerce, and services.
According to the Secretary of Economic Development, Ítalo Borges, Araxá is ready to take a new leap in development.
“We are preparing the ground for a new phase, with legal certainty and responsibility. The city, already recognized for its tourism potential, benefits from positioning itself proactively and with organization to attract high-level investors,” says the secretary.
Among the expected benefits are the attraction of new tourist flows, the creation of hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, the strengthening of tax collection, and the encouragement of new investments in urban and tourism infrastructure.
Ítalo emphasizes that the approved project is preparatory in nature: its effectiveness will depend on federal regulations regarding gambling operations in Brazil. This condition provides legal security to the municipality and makes Araxá a predictable and attractive business environment for potential investors.
“By anticipating this, we are creating conditions for Araxá to position itself at the forefront, strengthening its tourist and economic vocation,” concludes the secretary.
