Sports Gaming Brazil is a finalist for an international award for a social project developed in Olinda.
Costura Cidadã is competing for the "Responsible Company of the Year" category at the Global Gaming Awards Americas 2026 after empowering women, strengthening the creative economy, and expanding the socio-environmental impact of Carnival.

The Esportes Gaming Brasil Group (EGB), owner of the Esportes da Sorte, Onabet and Lottu brands, is among the finalists for the Global Gaming Awards Americas 2026 , one of the leading international awards in the gaming and betting industry. The company is competing in the Responsible Business of the Year category with the Costura Cidadã project , an initiative developed during the Olinda Carnival (PE) and aimed at generating income, productive inclusion and strengthening the local creative economy.

The nomination recognizes a set of socio-environmental actions carried out by the company during Carnival 2026, with the "Citizen Sewing" project as the main initiative. The project trained more than 80 women in sewing and textile production techniques, enabling them to create pieces used in brand activations, including the official festival banner, as well as creating job opportunities and increasing the financial autonomy of the participants.

“Our focus is on being present in the territories, reinforcing support for communities and ensuring a permanent social and environmental legacy. Seeing the work of the Costura Cidadã project recognized in an international award reinforces our commitment to linking investment in culture and entertainment to strengthening local economies and socio-environmental responsibility,” says Marcela Campos, vice-president of the EGB Group.

Legacy beyond the party.

In addition to professional training, the work in Olinda included initiatives aimed at strengthening the local economy during Carnival. Accredited street vendors received personalized stalls and complete kits with a shirt, cooler, umbrella, and money belt. The company also supported more than 40 historical carnival groups and associations that parade without ropes or abadás (carnival shirts), helping to preserve the democratic character of the city's largest cultural event.

The initiatives extended to other cities. In Recife and Salvador, recyclable material collectors received training on proper disposal, personal protective equipment, hydration support, and daily cash bonuses during the festival days.

In Caicó (RN), the group strengthened the local production chain by hiring city suppliers to produce a significant portion of the promotional caps and hats used in carnival activations. In the environmental area, it implemented initiatives to offset carbon emissions generated by its operations, in addition to actions focused on responsible waste management and the reuse of materials.

Communication broadens the reach of social impact.

The winners of the Global Gaming Awards Americas 2026 are chosen by a jury of gaming and betting industry executives, with independent auditing by KPMG.

According to the award organizers, the information used to compile the nomination for Grupo Esportes Gaming Brasil was gathered primarily from journalistic coverage of the Costura Cidadã project.

“It is especially significant that the nomination was built primarily on journalistic coverage of the project. This demonstrates how communication can broaden the visibility of social impact initiatives and contribute to good practices transcending borders,” says Iury Tavares, Press Manager of Grupo Esportes Gaming Brasil.

The winners will be announced on September 28th at The Venetian hotel in Las Vegas (USA), during the Global Gaming Expo (G2E).
