Bet365's revenue increases, but marketing costs lead to an 88% drop in profit.
The founder and co-CEO of the online betting platform pocketed R$752 million in salary and R$1,27 billion in dividends during 2025, according to documents submitted to the UK regulator.

Denise Coates, founder and co-CEO of Bet365, received £280 million (R$ 2,02 billion) in salaries and dividends during the year 2025. The information was released on Wednesday (January 14th) in documents submitted to Companies House, the UK's regulatory body. The 58-year-old executive is considered the richest woman in the UK.

Of the total amount received by the businesswoman, £104 million (R$752 million) corresponds to her salary, while the remainder comes from dividends. Coates maintains her position as the majority shareholder of the online betting platform, which entitles her to at least half of the company's profit distribution.

The high compensation came during a period of declining financial results for the company. Official records indicate that Bet365's pre-tax profit fell to £339 million (R$ 2,45 billion) in 2025, down from £596 million (R$ 4,31 billion) in the previous period.

Business trajectory

The businesswoman created Bet365 in 2000 in partnership with her brother John Coates, also a billionaire. The platform specializes in sports betting and online casino games . Currently, Denise occupies position 480 on Forbes' list of billionaires, with an estimated net worth of US$7,7 billion (R$41,3 billion).

Over the past decade, the executive's accumulated earnings with the company have exceeded £2 billion (R$ 14,46 billion), according to publicly available data. These figures place her among the highest-paid executives in the world.

Bet365 operates as a private company and processes over US$65 billion in bets annually. Despite reduced profits, the company projected 9% revenue growth by 2025, reaching approximately £4 billion (around R$29 billion).

International expansion

The increase in revenue resulted from the company's expansion into international markets, primarily in the United States and South American countries, regions where the platform has been expanding its operations.

Denise Coates began her professional career following in the footsteps of her father, Peter Coates, who founded the Provincial Racing betting company. A graduate in economics from the University of Sheffield, she managed the family business before selling it to the Coral betting company.

Upon realizing the growth of the online gambling sector , Coates acquired the Bet365.com domain in 2000 and officially launched the site in 2001. Today, she owns approximately half of the company.

Bet365 and Denise Coates have not issued any statements regarding the amounts received by the executive in 2025.
