Men's soccer dominates sports betting in Brazil with 76% preference, according to research by Grupo Globo.

Research conducted by Grupo Globo in partnership with Offerwise reveals that men's soccer is the most popular sport for betting in Brazil, with 76% preference among bettors. The study surveyed one thousand people over 18 years of age, including bettors and non-bettors, to map sports betting habits in the country.

The survey shows that women's soccer is the second most popular sport among Brazilians, with 31% of the choices. Basketball comes in third, chosen by 23% of participants, while volleyball is in fourth place with 19%.

Following in the ranking, poker registers 17% of the preferences of Brazilian bettors. MMA comes next, with 15%, followed by e-sports, which reach 12% of the interest of the survey participants.

The study, conducted in 2025, identified that traditional betting options occupy the top positions in bettors' preferences in Brazil. At the same time, it reveals the growth of digital betting options and emerging sports on betting platforms.

Sports with a solid fan base in the country don't necessarily generate the same interest for betting. Motorsports, which includes Formula 1, Rally, and NASCAR, only appears in 13th position in the survey, with 9% of preferences, far from the group of the ten most popular sports for betting in Brazil.

The study does not offer specific explanations for the identified preferences, nor does it make projections about possible changes in this scenario in the coming years. The research encompassed different user profiles, including both people who already use betting platforms and those who do not yet participate in this market.
