iGaming Africa named partner of the Africa Gaming Forum event.

SBC has named iGaming AFRIKA , a leading B2B and B2C media source on gambling in the African region, as an official partner of the African Gaming Forum , which will take place during the SBC Summit week in Lisbon.
The Forum, which will take place from 11:30 am to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 30th, at the Myriad Hotel, is an exclusive invitation-only event that brings together key representatives, regulators, and operators from across the African gaming ecosystem for a day focused on conference content and networking, positioning the continent's most important markets at one of the industry's largest global gatherings.
Founded in 2022, iGaming AFRIKA quickly established itself as the most influential media platform covering the African gaming industry, providing news, interviews, podcasts, and industry analysis that betting, gaming, and lottery professionals across the continent use to stay informed.
As a partner of the event, iGaming AFRIKA will contribute its regional expertise and industry network to support the Forum's engagement with regulators, operators, and investors. For SBC, the partnership reflects a deeper commitment: to give Africa a permanent and structured place within the SBC Summit ecosystem and to build the connections that will help shape the future of gaming on the continent, not just for one day, but for many years to come.
Commenting on the partnership, SBC founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark said: “No two gaming markets in Africa are moving in the same direction. Regulation, maturity, opportunities – everything looks different from market to market, and that’s exactly why we needed a partner who understood those nuances.”
“iGaming AFRIKA was the natural choice. Their regional knowledge perfectly complements the profile of the participants we bring to Lisbon. And since the Forum takes place during the week of the SBC Summit, it's an opportunity for African participants to move directly from these discussions to the largest global event in the sector, learning from markets and models far beyond their own.”
Throughout the day, the program will address the latest developments in the region's most important markets, including South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, and Nigeria. The program begins with a panel of regulators examining regulatory models across the continent, followed by a panel of CEOs discussing the realities of entering and expanding in African markets.
Upcoming sessions will cover Ghana's continued growth, Kenya's Gambling Control Act, potential tax changes in South Africa, the future of online gaming in Ethiopia, and the evolving regulatory landscape in Nigeria.
The program will feature high-level representatives from across the African gaming ecosystem, including Bashir Are (CEO of the Lagos State Lottery and Gaming Authority), Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo (Acting Commissioner of the Ghana Gaming Commission), Ronnie Whelan (CEO of Kingmakers), John Mutua (CEO of the Kenya Gaming Operators Association), Simon Gregory (CEO of SunBet), and Peter Maina Karimi (Director General of the Kenya Gaming Regulatory Authority), among others.
Commenting on the partnership, Jeremiah Maangi, founder and CEO of iGaming AFRIKA, said: “Our mission has always been to give the African gaming industry a platform. SBC shares this ambition, and this partnership is proof of that.”
“The inclusion of the African Gaming Forum in the SBC Summit week means that African stakeholders have direct access to the world’s largest gaming discussions, and the world gains a clearer view of one of the industry’s most important growth stories.”
The African Gaming Forum will take place during the SBC Summit 2026 , SBC's main global event, which will host 40.000 industry professionals at the Lisbon International Fair (FIL) and the MEO Arena, from September 29 to October 1.
Participants can expect more than just networking, product discovery, and a CPD-certified conference program over the three days. Highlights include appearances by basketball icon, investor, and philanthropist Michael Jordan and UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira , before the week concludes with a keynote set by Tiësto, one of the world's most renowned DJs, at INFINITY Lisboa.
