Player turns $5 into a $10,2 million jackpot at Westgate Las Vegas.

A visitor from Atlanta won a prize of US$10.292.911,55 on a slot machine at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino this Tuesday (16). The jackpot was won with a bet of just US$5 on the Megabucks Wolf Run Eclipse game, by IGT. The prize was won after three minutes of play.
The player sat down to play the Wolf Run Eclipse slot machine at the Westgate Las Vegas casino resort located on Paradise Road, off the Strip . The bet triggered a bonus round that resulted in the Megabucks jackpot. The visitor had arrived at the casino just minutes before hitting the jackpot.
The property belongs to Westgate Resorts, based in Orlando. Westgate Las Vegas shared a photo of the moment on its social media account, showing the exact amount of the jackpot won.
The progressive jackpot is created through a wide area network (WAN) that interconnects thousands of machines. With each spin of the roulette wheel, a small, predetermined percentage of the bet is allocated to the progressive jackpot. If a player bets $3 on a round, typically about six to nine cents go towards the progressive jackpot. This system allows prizes to accumulate to millions of dollars over time.
The grand prize winner chose not to reveal their identity and did not pose for photographs. Rumors quickly surfaced on social media indicating that the winner arrived in Las Vegas on Tuesday, ahead of Infocomm 2026, the annual convention of the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA). Infocomm attracts approximately 40 attendees to Las Vegas. The Strip Convention Center will host the audiovisual event in 2026.
The winner's prize will be subject to federal taxes of 37%, the maximum rate for taxpayers in 2026. Taxation will reduce the $10,2 million winnings by approximately $3,8 million.
“Las Vegas is built on unforgettable moments, and nothing is more memorable than turning a $5 bet into over $10 million,” said Cami Christensen, president and general manager of Westgate Las Vegas. “We are thrilled for our guest from Atlanta and love seeing these legendary stories unfold at Westgate.”
"Congratulations to our newest multimillionaire. Here, winners aren't just celebrated... They're made. Who's next?", celebrated Westgate Las Vegas.
The $10,2 million prize is not among the five largest jackpots ever paid out in Las Vegas. The largest prize of all time occurred in March 2003, when a 25-year-old player won $39,7 million on a Megabucks progressive slot machine. Three years earlier, a waitress at a local bar won $35 million playing a slot machine at the now-defunct Desert Inn.
In November 1998, a 67-year-old retired flight attendant won $27,6 million at Palace Station. In March 2022, a 74-year-old woman won $22,6 million at Bally's (now Horseshoe) while going to get breakfast. Rounding out the list of the five biggest prizes is a $21,3 million jackpot won on a slot machine at Caesars Palace in June 1999. A 49-year-old business consultant was in town for a convention when he struck it rich with a $10 bet.
Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino is a 4-star hotel and casino located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The complex is historically known for having been the home of Elvis Presley's residential shows and currently houses the residency of Barry Manilow, who turned 83 this Wednesday (17). The resort is located next to the Las Vegas Convention Center to the south and the Las Vegas Country Club.
