Staying ahead of the threats: SBC Summit reveals compliance technology roadmap for 2026.

The event will examine technologies that help operators detect threats, combat fraud, and strengthen compliance through conference panels dedicated to ' Compliance Technology '.
The event, which will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Lisbon International Fair, will bring together operators, technology experts, compliance and legal specialists, and leaders in fraud, risk, and cybersecurity to examine how technology can help companies stay ahead of emerging threats.
The Compliance Technology panel will be part of the stage dedicated to Regulation and Compliance , along with tracks covering various other topics: Global Regulations (Tuesday, September 29) and Player Protection (Wednesday, September 30).
Throughout the day, sessions will explore advancements in fraud prevention, how operators can combat illegal activities when entering new markets, the impact of EUDI wallets and digital identity, and the growing relationship between regulation and cybersecurity.
“The same technological advances that are helping companies protect their businesses are also changing the nature of the threats they face,” said Rasmus Sojmark, founder and CEO of SBC.
As criminals become more sophisticated and operators need to deal with increasingly complex regulatory requirements, simply having more technology is not enough. The challenge is knowing where it can make a real difference, and this module will examine where the industry should focus its attention.
The session will begin with an analysis of how operators can approve more legitimate customers without increasing their exposure to fraud, titled “ More Players, Less Risk: Maximizing Approvals in a Regulated World .” Experts Tom Orton (Director of Content and Payments at Rank Group), Tim De Borle (COO of Casumo), Liesbeth Oost (Head of ESG at JVH Gaming and Entertainment), and moderator Ana Pamplona (Doctor of Law, Lawyer, University Professor, and Co-founder of AMIG) will explore how technology can help reduce block rates and false positives while improving approval rates for legitimate customers.
The conversation will then address the compliance challenges operators face when entering new markets during the event “ Moving into New Markets: What Are the Compliance Challenges? ”. Speakers Miguel Luis (Head of Compliance at LeBull), Sissel Weitzhandler (Co-founder of EGARA), Ian Perrygrove (Director of Risk at Kwiff), Raymond Wilson (Head of Anti-Money Laundering and Senior Criminal Background Manager at Midnite), and moderator Thees Buschman (Senior Consultant at the Chevron Group) will examine how operators can identify local criminal threats, deploy effective fraud prevention technology, and manage compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Next, attention will turn to the future of digital identity during the panel “ EUDI Wallets and Digital Identity: A New Era for KYC or Just New Complexity? ”. Experts Andrea Carvalho (Head of Legal Affairs, Compliance and AML at Entain), Yainnis Stavroulas (Chief Technology Officer at Novibet), Jean Michel Azzorpadi (Blockchain Architect) and panel moderator Jochen Biewer (General Manager of the Chevron Group) will assess whether EUDI Wallets can simplify KYC and onboarding, while also examining the regulatory, technical and operational challenges that their adoption may create.
Sessions throughout the day will also examine how regulators and cybersecurity teams can collaborate to strengthen cyber defense across the industry during the event “ At the Intersection of Cybersecurity, Regulation, and Collaborative Defense ,” while “ Closing the Gaps: How to Combat Bonus Abuse ” will explore how operators can identify and address the ever-evolving forms of bonus exploitation.
Participants who wish to continue the conversation after the conference will be able to take advantage of a range of networking opportunities focused on compliance, regulation, and risk.
The Compliance Show Floor Tour will introduce operators to leading compliance technology providers and their latest solutions, while the Regulatory Gaming Meetups will host 21 market-focused meetings, connecting participants with regulators, legal experts, and market leaders.
