Mega-Sena postponed to Friday (14); estimated prize is R$ 100 million
The postponed Mega-Sena is the highlight of this week for bettors. Contest 2940, initially scheduled for this Thursday (13), has been rescheduled for Friday (14). According to Caixa Econômica Federal, the change is due to the Republic Proclamation holiday, which will be celebrated on Saturday (15). As there are traditionally Mega-Sena draws on Saturdays, the schedule has undergone an exceptional adjustment and there will be no contest on the weekend.
The estimated prize remains at R$ 100 million, an amount that could attract a large volume of bets across the country. With the change in date, players gain more time to register their bets at accredited lottery outlets or through Caixa Lotteries' digital channels. Bets can be placed until 19 pm on Friday (14), and the draw will be broadcast live on Caixa's official YouTube channel, starting at 20 pm.
Mega-Sena allows bets starting from six numbers for R$ 6,00. The 2940th draw thus becomes an extended opportunity for those who wish to try their luck in pursuit of the accumulated prize. According to Caixa, the complete results and prize distribution will be released after 21:30 PM.
Why was the Mega-Sena lottery draw postponed?
The national holiday celebrated on Saturday altered the traditional schedule. With no draw on the 15th, Caixa reorganized the week's schedule to avoid conflict with the calendar and maintain the planned number of draws.
How to bet
Bets are still accepted at lottery outlets throughout the country, as well as on the official Caixa Lotteries website and app. You can choose from six to 20 numbers on the betting slip, with the bet amount increasing progressively according to the number selected.
