The Ministry of Sport releases a list of 80 clubs for Timemania in the 2026-2028 biennium.
The Ministry of Sport has published the official list of 80 professional soccer teams that will participate in Timemania between 2026 and 2028. The list was released by Ordinance MESP No. 32 , signed by the Minister of State for Sport on April 2nd. The period of validity begins on May 2nd, 2026 and ends on May 1st, 2028.
The ordinance is based on the powers conferred by Article 87 of the Federal Constitution and Decree No. 6.187, of August 14, 2007. The selected clubs will be included in the Timemania lottery tickets, a lottery modality of Caixa Econômica Federal aimed at football enthusiasts, which combines the chance to win millionaire prizes with financial support for Brazilian clubs.
The selection of teams followed criteria established by item I of article 5 of Decree No. 6.187/2007. The requirements for inclusion include clubs that competed in the A and B series of the Brazilian Championship in the previous two-year period. The biggest state champions were also considered.
Representatives of the national first division
Among the teams in the "Serie A" of the Brazilian Championship, the decree lists 20 clubs distributed across different states. From Paraná, Club Athletico Paranaense and Coritiba Foot Ball Club were included. From Minas Gerais, Clube Atlético Mineiro and Cruzeiro Esporte Clube are listed.
Bahia is represented by Esporte Clube Bahia and Esporte Clube Vitória. Rio de Janeiro has four representatives: Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas, Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, Fluminense Football Club, and Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama.
From Rio Grande do Sul, Grêmio Foot-ball Porto Alegrense and Sport Club Internacional appear. Santa Catarina is represented by Associação Chapecoense de Futebol. São Paulo leads in the number of clubs in the first division, with seven teams: Red Bull Bragantino Futebol, Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, Mirassol Futebol Clube, Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras, Santos Futebol Clube, and São Paulo Futebol Clube. Clube do Remo, from Pará, is also on the list.
Second division clubs included
The Brazilian Championship's "Serie B" contributes another 20 clubs to Timemania. Minas Gerais appears with three representatives: América Futebol Clube, Athletic Club, and Atlético Clube Goianiense. Goiás also has three teams: Atlético Clube Goianiense itself, Goiás Esporte Clube, and Vila Nova Futebol Clube.
Santa Catarina is represented by Avaí Futebol Clube and Criciúma Esporte Clube. Ceará has Ceará Sporting Club and Fortaleza Esporte Clube. Pernambuco participates with Clube Náutico Capibaribe and Sport Club do Recife.
Alagoas and Mato Grosso are represented by Clube de Regatas Brasil and Cuiabá Esporte Clube, respectively. From Paraná, Londrina Esporte Clube and Operário Ferroviário Esporte Clube were selected. Rio Grande do Sul is represented by Esporte Clube Juventude. São Paulo has five clubs in the second division: Botafogo Futebol Clube, Grêmio Novorizontino, Associação Atlética Ponte Preta, and São Bernardo Futebol Clube.
Third division teams on the list
The "Serie C" of the Brazilian Championship adds 20 more teams to the Timemania list. Among them are Amazonas Futebol Clube, Anápolis Futebol Clube, Barra Futebol Clube, Botafogo Futebol Clube, and Brusque Futebol Clube. Sociedade Esportiva e Recreativa Caxias do Sul represents Rio Grande do Sul in this category.
Sergipe is represented by Associação Desportiva Confiança and Associação Olímpica de Itabaiana. São Paulo is represented by Associação Ferroviária de Esportes, Guarani Futebol Clube, Associação Atlética Internacional, Ituano Futebol Clube, and São José Esporte Clube.
Santa Catarina has Figueirense Futebol Clube among the selected teams. Ceará is represented by Floresta Esporte Clube. Maranhão is represented by Maranhão Atlético Clube. Paraná participates with Maringá Futebol Clube. Pará has Paysandu Sport Club. Pernambuco has Santa Cruz Futebol Clube. Rio de Janeiro is represented by Volta Redonda Futebol Clube. Rio Grande do Sul is represented by Ypiranga Futebol Clube.

The last 20 teams were chosen based on their ranking in the Brazilian Football Confederation. Alagoas is represented by Centro Sportivo Alagoano. Minas Gerais is represented by Tombense Futebol Clube.
Rio Grande do Norte has ABC Futebol Clube and América Futebol Clube. Maranhão is represented by Sampaio Corrêa Futebol Clube. Pernambuco has Retrô Futebol Clube on the list. Goiás is represented by Associação Atlética Aparecidense.
Ceará is represented by Ferroviário Atlético Clube. Amazonas is represented by Manaus Futebol Clube. Piauí is participating for the first time with Associação Atlética de Altos. Rio de Janeiro is represented by Nova Iguaçu Futebol Clube. Pará is represented by Águia de Marabá Futebol Clube.
Rio Grande do Sul has Grêmio Esportivo Brasil. Paraíba has Sousa Esporte Clube. Tocantins participates with Tocantinópolis Esporte Clube. Paraná is represented by Futebol Clube Cascavel. The Federal District closes the list with Brasiliense Futebol Clube.
Validity and access to resources
The decree came into effect on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Union. The listed clubs will have access to the lottery proceeds for the entire established two-year period. The next update to the list will occur after the end of the period, in May 2028.
Decree No. 6.187 of 2007 regulates Timemania. The lottery was created with the objective of assisting football clubs in paying off tax debts. Timemania was created to help participating clubs pay their debts to the Brazilian government. Of the total collected, the clubs receive 22%, which is allocated to paying debts to the INSS (National Institute of Social Security), FGTS (Guarantee Fund for Length of Service), the Federal Revenue Service, and other taxes owed to the Union.
In the lottery's operation, the player chooses 10 numbers from 80 available and a "Favorite Team," with draws of 7 numbers and 1 team held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Part of the revenue is allocated to the sports entities included on the betting slips. Timemania covers clubs from practically all states of the federation.
