The Ministries of Justice and Finance have signed an agreement to combat money laundering in betting.

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) and the Prizes and Betting Secretariat (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance signed a technical cooperation agreement to monitor and combat money laundering in the betting market. The document was published this Thursday (6) in the Official Gazette of the Union, after being signed on October 30.

Agreement number 7/2025 integrates SPA into the Rede-Lab Program, established by MJSP Ordinance No. 145, of August 2022. The partnership aims to support the activities of the General Coordination for Monitoring Money Laundering and Related Crimes (GCLD), linked to the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting.

The National Secretary of Justice, Jean Keiji Uema (SIAPE registration number 4765414), signed the document representing the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. The signature for the SPA (Secretariat of Public Administration) was provided by the Deputy Secretary, Daniele Correa Cardoso (SIAPE registration number 1795735). The administrative process that forms the basis of the cooperation is registered under number 08099.010035/2024-01.

The technical cooperation involves the sharing of methodologies and technologies between the institutions. The agreement also includes collaboration for the training and capacity building of officials who work in the oversight of the betting sector in Brazil.

The activities will be carried out in an administrative unit with its own physical and technological infrastructure, in accordance with the objectives of the Rede-Lab Program. This program constitutes a network of technology laboratories against money laundering under the coordination of the National Secretariat of Justice.

The agreement will have a duration of 60 months from the date of signature, with the possibility of extension through an addendum between the parties.
