Pixbet fined R$ 814 by the Treasury for irregularities.

The Ministry of Finance fined Pixbet Soluções Tecnológicas Ltda. R$ 814.567,44. The penalty was formalized through a summons notice published in the edition of this Monday (August 31st) of the Official Gazette of the Union, after the company could not be located at the address registered in the regulatory body's systems.

The fine is based on item III of article 41 of Law No. 14.790/2023, which regulates the betting market in Brazil. The penalty was applied by the Sub-Secretariat for Sanctioning Action of the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA), linked to the Ministry of Finance.

III – in the case of other natural or legal persons under public or private law and any associations of entities or persons constituted in fact or in law, even temporarily, with or without legal personality, that do not carry out business activity, when it is not possible to use the criterion of the proceeds of the collection: a fine of R$ 50.000,00 (fifty thousand reais) to R$ 2.000.000.000,00 (two billion reais) per infraction;

Deadline for payment or appeal

Pixbet has ten days, starting from the publication of the notice, to settle the debt or file an administrative appeal. Payment must be made through the PagTesouro Portal, with deposit into the National Treasury's Single Account. The appeal, in turn, must be filed electronically in the Electronic Information System (SEI), as provided for in article 21 of SPA/MF Ordinance No. 1.233 of 2024.

If neither of these two measures is taken within the deadline, the amount will be forwarded for registration as an outstanding debt with the Federal Government, which opens the way for legal action to collect the debt.
