Draft bill proposes expanding lottery activities beyond basic banking services.
Congressman Luiz Carlos Hauly (PODE/PR) filed Bill 5941/2025 in the Chamber of Deputies, which allows the expansion of the activities of lottery houses in Brazil. The proposal was presented on Monday (24), and seeks to authorize the combination of different services in these establishments.
The text from the Paraná state legislator proposes that lottery outlets be allowed to act as correspondents in offering new public and private services. The initiative maintains the regulated and secure nature that has historically characterized the Brazilian lottery system.
Bill 5941/2025 will go through the relevant committees of the Chamber of Deputies before potentially going to a plenary vote, should it be approved in the previous stages. Currently, lottery outlets already function as points for basic banking services and locations for various payments.
