National Front of Mayors requests participation in lawsuit regarding municipal lotteries at the Supreme Court.
The organization represents state capitals and municipalities with more than 80 inhabitants and is challenging a preliminary injunction by Minister Nunes Marques that suspended the operation of betting and lotteries in Brazilian cities. FNP argues that the Union's competence to legislate on lotteries does not prevent municipalities from operating the service, citing precedents from state cases judged by the Supreme Court.
