Fans are betting cars at a notary's office on the Libertadores final between Flamengo and Palmeiras.

Two fans residing in Palmas, Tocantins, registered a bet at a notary's office, placing their own cars as prizes depending on the outcome of the Copa Libertadores final between Flamengo and Palmeiras. The agreement stipulates that the owner of the vehicle supporting the winning team will receive the car of the opposing team after the match, scheduled for November 29th in Lima, Peru. The vehicles involved, a Chevrolet Onix and a Chevrolet Montana, have a combined market value of approximately R$ 80.
The bet gained visibility on social media this week after the agreement was formalized at a notary's office. The challenge began when the Flamengo fan, owner of the Montana pickup truck, posted a video taunting his Palmeiras-supporting friend.
“I know you’re a Palmeiras fan and I saw you’re taking all kinds of bets. I have this Montana and I’m dying to make a deal. If you have a car there, I’m waiting,” declared the Flamengo supporter in the recording that started the bet. At another point, he invited his rival to “match” the bet, a term used to formalize the agreement.
The Palmeiras fan, owner of the Onix, accepted the challenge, putting his vehicle up as part of the bet. The deal was formalized a few days before the continental final, and videos of the initial provocation and subsequent acceptance quickly circulated among fan groups.
The clash between Palmeiras and Flamengo in the Libertadores final is a rematch of the 2021 final, when the São Paulo team beat the Rio de Janeiro team 2-1 in Montevideo. For the two fans from Tocantins, the result will determine not only the continental champion, but also who will keep their vehicle.
No information has been released regarding how the formal transfer of the vehicles will be carried out after departure, or if there are any specific clauses in the agreement registered with the notary.
