Cleaning lady who ignored calls and discovered a R$100 prize in Paraná will use the money to pay off debts.

Izabel Azevedo, a resident of Curitiba who won R$ 100 in the July Nota Paraná lottery, says she will use the money to pay off debts.

The woman is 51 years old and only found out about the prize when the program's team went to her house, after she spent 15 days refusing calls and even blocking phone numbers that tried to inform her about the lottery results.

Izabel has two jobs: in the morning, she works as a janitor at a gym, and in the afternoon she's a sales promoter. For her, the money came at a good time.

"It was at the moment I needed it most in my life! I never imagined winning a prize like this... I'm going to pay off my debts!", she said in an interview with RPC, an affiliate of TV Globo in Paraná.

The program is used as context by scammers.

Izabel's concern is not unfounded, as scammers often use the name of Nota Paraná to try to deceive consumers. Therefore, the program coordinator emphasizes that participants should be vigilant whenever they receive any such contact.

“It’s natural for people to be suspicious when they receive a call or message saying they’ve won a prize. In the case of Nota Paraná, however, it’s very easy to confirm the information’s veracity. Just access the program’s app and check if there are any notifications of a winning ticket,” explains Marta Gambini.

According to her, the Nota Paraná team never asks people to provide any type of personal data, much less to click on links or make any type of payment.

“Our contact is always to confirm data we already have and ask the person to open the app. But for that to happen, the person has to give us a chance and answer the call,” he jokes. ( Watch the video of the report on g1 PR )
