The success of "Vale o escrito" (Globoplay) fueled public curiosity about the inner workings of the illegal lottery game known as "jogo do bicho." Podcasts analyzing the series and articles with opinions on the members of the old leadership and the new generation of this illegal gambling operation proliferated on social media. Among this material, the name of one of the characters gained prominence: Shanna Garcia, granddaughter of Miro Garcia and daughter of Waldomiro Paes Garcia, known as Maninho.

This week, with the release of "Os donos do jogo" (The Owners of the Game), a fictional series by Heitor Dhalia with illegal gambling as its theme, the subject resurfaced in conversations and online posts. The cast includes names like Chico Diaz and Juliana Paes. Behind the scenes, it's said that Giullia Buscacio's character is inspired by Shanna Garcia, who spoke candidly and cried on camera about her disagreements with her twin sister, Tamara, and her family. Her authenticity brought her a certain fame and now, even a supposed inspiration for a fictional character.

Shanna invests in horses and lives as a businesswoman in the interior of São Paulo, but she doesn't hide the fact that she enjoyed the notoriety that "Vale o escrito" brought her, to the point of thinking about a new career. And, for that, she believes the first step is to hire an agent.

— I'd love to try something new. What I'm missing is someone who has knowledge in other areas — she explains, adding about her relationship with social media: — I'm not using it as much as I used to because I've allowed too many people to access it. It's just full of weirdos. People ask me to post more about my daily life, more photos, but I still don't know how to handle it (laughs).

She plans to watch the fictional series that will be released on Netflix this year, but Shanna couldn't finish the documentary shown on Globo and Globoplay. The story recalled the murder of her father, to whom she was often compared, the death of her husband in 2011, that of her brother in 2017, the shooting attack she suffered in 2019, and the disagreements with Tamara and with criminals.

"I think I'll watch the new series, yes. I didn't watch all of 'Vale o Escrito'... I don't know if it's because it's very intense, very emotional, me talking... But I didn't finish it," she says.

Although she is interested in watching the new series, Shanna recognizes that, being fiction, it may distance itself from the reality she knows and has lived:

— I saw some posts that were sent to me on Instagram about the series. I think that, unlike "Vale o escrito," it might be difficult to get close to reality. A story told by someone who lived it is very different from one told by fictional characters. Suddenly, a story that was very real, that impacted many people, can start to be distorted and fantasized too much. With information from Globo Online.)
