MPRS partners with Sportradar to combat match-fixing in sports in Rio Grande do Sul.

The Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio Grande do Sul (MPRS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sportradar, a global sports technology company, to protect the integrity of sport in the state. The agreement was signed this Tuesday (2) and establishes the exchange of data and information between the institutions to combat illicit practices in the sports scene in Rio Grande do Sul.

The partnership will enable the development of joint actions to identify and combat match-fixing and other threats to the integrity of competitions. The memorandum establishes protocols for sharing information that may indicate suspicious activities in the sporting arena.

The Coordinator of the Special Task Force to Combat Organized Crime (GAECO) and the Intelligence Unit (NIMP), Dr. André Luis Dal Molin Flores, highlighted the importance of the initiative: “This Memorandum strengthens our work in protecting the integrity of sports. It is an important step forward in ensuring transparency and security. With the exchange of damaging information, we will have greater speed and accuracy in identifying and curbing illegal practices.”

Sportradar, internationally recognized for its solutions protecting sports integrity, will share its technological expertise with the Rio Grande do Sul state government. The cooperation aims to strengthen monitoring and prevention mechanisms against activities that compromise transparency in competitions.

The agreement with MPRS is essential for advancing the fight against corruption threats in betting and in the continuous pursuit of a more transparent sports environment.”

The agreement is part of a growing concern about the integrity of sporting competitions, especially given the expansion of the betting market in Brazil. The collaboration between the MPRS (Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio Grande do Sul) and Sportradar represents an institutional effort to ensure that sport in Rio Grande do Sul remains free from external influences.
