Digital influencer and dancer Thais Carla was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Bahia (MP-BA) for promoting gambling through social media.

According to the state agency, the complaint, filed through the citizen service website, alleges that the digital influencer regularly and massively promotes gambling advertisements from companies that supposedly do not comply with national legal regulations.

According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the complaint was received by the Consumer Protection Prosecutor's Office, which initially assessed that the facts may be more related to the criminal area. The procedure was then redistributed to a Criminal Prosecutor's Office, which is evaluating the information to take appropriate action.

In a statement, Thais Carla's defense team stated that the digital influencer has no involvement with the operations of the company mentioned. They further stated that the dancer works exclusively on promoting campaigns.

Beginning of fame
The artist is married to Israel Reis and is the mother of two daughters. She lives with her family in Madre de Deus, a coastal and tourist town in the Salvador Metropolitan Region.

Thais Carla became known in 2009, at age 17, when she participated in the "Se vira nos 30" segment on the Domingão program on Rede Globo, and won a prize of R$ 15 by dancing to a Hip Hop song. Following that, she made appearances on several television programs.

In 2017, she became part of singer Anitta's dance group. Since then, she has participated in music and fashion events, done advertising in the digital market, and become a notable figure at the most popular events in the country, including the Salvador Carnival.

Fight against fatphobia
Dancer and influencer Thais Carla stands out in the digital world for her dance choreography and activism on behalf of plus-size people. Currently, she has over 3,4 million followers on Instagram alone, not counting other profiles.

On social media, Thais often posts bikini photos, highlighting the beauty of plus-size people, as well as videos of choreographed dances. However, the posts attract not only praise but also many insults, including from other influencers like herself.

Due to attacks and fatphobic comments, Thais Carla has already initiated legal proceedings against content creators such as Guto Galamba, Edna Calixto, Renata Barreto, Gustavo Lázaro, Pietro Kraus, and federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira.

In October 2021, she celebrated the conviction of comedian Leonardo Lins in a lawsuit she filed against him, also for fatphobia. With information from g1 BA)
