Integrated casino-resorts only in Rio and São Paulo.
The Valor Econômico report confirms what we have been denouncing in recent months: that the Las Vegas Sands Group is only interested in operating integrated casino-resorts in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
“In Brazil, LVS’s potential targets are, initially, Rio and São Paulo – both large cities with established infrastructure such as hotel networks and international airports,” says Adelson.
Unfortunately, the Brazilian Congress may approve specific legislation allowing casino magnate Sheldon Adelson to increase his fortune by operating casino resorts in just two cities.
Brazil, which has one of the most outdated laws in the world regarding games and lotteries, cannot approve the 'Sheldon Adelson Law'. The country needs a regulatory framework for games and lotteries, through the legalization of market demand.
