Marco Tulio Oliveira, CEO of Ana Gaming (owner of bets 7K, Cassino.bet, and Vera.bet), criticizes the treatment of regulated companies in the betting sector.

Marco Tulio Oliveira, CEO of Ana Gaming, owner of the betting sites 7K, Cassino.bet, and Vera.bet, posted a complaint on LinkedIn after being informed by a bank on Faria Lima Avenue that he should withdraw all his investments from the institution. The reason given by the bank was his role as an executive in the betting sector.

The story was published this Wednesday (July 2nd) by the Capital Column of Globo Online and confirmed by BNLData. Ana Gaming operates in a regulated and authorized manner by the federal government, as Oliveira himself highlighted in his publication.

The executive did not reveal the name of the bank, describing it only as "one of the largest financial institutions in Brazil." The institution's private banking division , aimed at multi-millionaire clients, had been serving him for many years. Oliveira assumed the position of CEO of Ana Gaming in February 2025.

In his post, he questioned the treatment received by professionals from regulated companies. "Does it make sense that professionals working in companies authorized, inspected, and regulated by the federal government are treated as if they were part of an illegal activity?" he wrote. Before joining Ana Gaming, the executive had a career at Localiza, Unidas, and Banco Rural.

Difficulty in distinguishing within the sector

According to Oliveira, the central problem is the financial market's inability to distinguish between legal and illegal operators. He states that "even after regulation, there is still enormous difficulty in differentiating companies that comply with strict regulatory requirements from those that continue to operate illegally."

The CEO expanded on the criticism by questioning whether "a minority operating outside the law ends up defining the perception of an entire sector." He then added: "The debate about the sector is legitimate and necessary. Responsible gaming, user protection, and oversight should always be at the heart of the discussion. But it greatly concerns me when companies that generate thousands of jobs, collect taxes, invest in technology, hire suppliers, and operate within the rules end up being lumped together with those that operate outside of them."
