Former president and accountant of Lotesul are convicted.

The former president of the Mato Grosso do Sul State Lottery (Lotesul) Astrogildo Silva de Lima and the company's former accountant Eddi Romeu Filho were convicted by the court for the crime of administrative misconduct, for the practice of several illegalities. The sentence is from the judge of the 2nd Court of Diffuse, Collective and Homogeneous Individual Rights of Campo Grande, David de Oliveira Gomes Filho and was published this Tuesday (26).
According to the ruling, the judge understood that the share of fraud by those involved was the same, due to the complementary responsibilities and activities, and both received the same penalty. They had their political rights suspended for six years and were ordered to pay the equivalent value of a Celta Life vehicle according to the table, plus two civil fines totaling R$ 1.816.105,40 each, this amount to be adjusted with interest and penalties from the beginning of the process. In addition to the fines, Astrogildo and Eddi will be registered in the National Registry of Convicted Persons for Acts of Administrative Impropriety.
Among the irregularities, the process includes irregularities in concessions formalized with other companies, such as the Senador and Cidade bingo halls in the capital, without the requirement for pertinent documentation and with inefficient control of fees owed by the bingo halls, with Lotesul having received amounts lower than what was due on several occasions.
Problems were also found in the authorizations granted to the so-called MS da Sorte, which failed to provide a guarantee of the prize, and in this case, Celta was ordered to reimburse the pair.
Furthermore, irregular balance sheets and financial statements caused losses that, according to the lawsuit, were contributed to by mismanagement on the part of the former president and the accountant.
Since the case is at the first instance level, the sentence can be appealed.
