Las Vegas displays advertising panel at the Interlagos GP and reinforces its competition for Brazilian tourists.

Those who watched the Formula 1 São Paulo Grand Prix this Sunday (8) saw a panel with the “Las Vegas” brand on the Interlagos racetrack. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), which promotes the city as a tourist destination, was one of the sponsors of the Brazilian stage. The advertisement appeared in the broadcast to millions of viewers, in a country where casinos and gambling have been prohibited for 80 years.
The announcement shows that Las Vegas has funds to promote the city abroad and treats Brazil as a strategic market. The timing also helps: the next stage of the championship is the Las Vegas GP, held on the street circuit that runs along the Strip, between hotels and casinos. The race is scheduled for Saturday night (21) local time, which corresponds to 1 am on Sunday (22) in Brasília.
The paradox is well-known in the industry. Brazilians cannot gamble in casinos in their own country, but they cross the continent to gamble in the United States. This week, BNLData is publishing a special report with data on Brazilian visitors to Las Vegas in 2025:
⇒ How many Brazilians visited the city?
⇒ How much did they spend at the casinos?
⇒ how long did they stay
⇒ how they arrived at their destination
⇒ the historical series of visits by Brazilians
As I often say, gambling is either legal or illegal; not gambling is impossible. When Brazil prohibits it, the money of Brazilian gamblers leaves the country and stays abroad.
