The Ministry of Sport will receive complaints about irregularities in sports results.

Complaints about “facts that undermine the integrity and unpredictability of sporting events and results” can be sent to the Ombudsman of the Ministry of Sport, according to a decree published by the Ministry this Tuesday (12) in the “Official Gazette of the Union” (DOU). The objective of the decree is to “prevent and combat the manipulation of results” to guarantee the integrity of sports betting, reports VALOR.
According to a statement released by the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic, "the confidentiality of the communication and data protection of whistleblowers will be guaranteed, preserving them from any retaliation." The investigations will be the responsibility of the National Secretariat for Sports Betting and Economic Development of Sport of the Ministry.
The decree also provides for partnerships between the federal government and companies in the sector, as well as "the promotion of awareness-raising, education and training actions, including for athletes, coaches, referees, club professionals, athletes' agents and people in governance or management positions in sports, with the goal of strengthening the fight against match-fixing."
"The development of educational plans may involve the participation of sports organizations and civil society," he says.
The Ministry of Sport may also partner with specialized organizations in order to detect, "through monitoring systems, suspicious patterns and anomalous behaviors in sporting events."
