The Acting Deputy Secretary of the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA), Andiara Maria Braga Maranhão, has been authorized to represent Brazil as a speaker at the Ibero-American Conference on Responsible Gaming. The event will take place in Madrid, Spain, between February 14 and 18, 2026, including travel time. The authorization was published on Thursday (February 5) in the Official Gazette of the Union.

The order authorizing the trip was signed by Daniele Correa Cardoso, the current Deputy Secretary of SPA, an agency linked to the Ministry of Finance. The trip will be at the expense of the Brazilian public administration, meaning that the expenses will be covered by the federal government.

About the international conference

The Ibero-American Conference on Responsible Gaming brings together experts and authorities from Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries. The event aims to discuss public policies and best practices related to the gaming and betting sector, focusing on measures to protect consumers and prevent problems associated with this economic activity.

The Secretary's participation coincides with the International Responsible Gaming Conference, organized by the Spanish Federation of Rehabilitated Gamblers (FEJAR), which will be held at the Hotel Ilunión Suites in Madrid on February 17, 2026. This event, which is no longer exclusively national but has become the main reference forum in Ibero-America, has the institutional support of the Spanish Directorate General for Gaming Regulation (DGOJ).

FEJAR and its international activities

With over 30 years of experience, FEJAR stands out for its global vision and practice of responsible gambling, offering clinical support in 21 countries. The federation manages free helplines in Spain and provides online therapy for users in various countries, consolidating Madrid as the Ibero-American epicenter of Responsible Gambling.

The event aims to bring together regulators, operators, and healthcare professionals from across Ibero-America to promote responsible gaming. It creates a multi-sectoral dialogue space that allows for the exchange of regulatory and health experiences within a shared cultural and linguistic context.

It is worth noting that this event is distinct from the “Cumbre Iberoamericana del Juego” (Ibero-American Gaming Summit), which will be held in Bogotá, Colombia in 2026.
