A bill under discussion in the Senate Sports Committee, with Senator Carlos Portinho (RJ) as rapporteur, could limit the presence of betting companies on LED boards in stadiums, reserving the space exclusively for the holder of the naming rights of the championships — and, consequently, reducing the number of sponsors in football, as reported by Lauro Jardim's column in Globo On-line.

According to competitors, the measure could directly benefit Betano, which holds the naming rights for the Brazilian Championship and the Copa do Brasil.

The proposal is also worrying some Serie B clubs that depend on this revenue to balance their finances.
