Brazilian Federal Lottery experiences delayed return to ticket distribution.
Caixa Loterias will resume selling Federal Lottery tickets in August 2026, but warns that delays in ticket distribution may affect lottery outlets, especially for the first draw of the series, scheduled for this Sunday (August 2).
The statement released by the Conexão Parceiros platform and addressed to lottery business owners acknowledges that deliveries to lottery outlets may not be completed in time to allow for the full sale of tickets. The alert is specifically directed at Draw No. 6088, which takes place on August 2nd.
Distribution concentrated in São Paulo
Deliveries to the state of São Paulo, which account for approximately 60% of the total tickets in the shipment, have been "mostly completed," according to Caixa Loterias. Deliveries to other regions of the country are in advanced stages of completion, but without guaranteed completion within the deadline.
The recognition of the risk of delay is accompanied by a set of procedures that lottery outlets must follow if tickets arrive too late. Units that receive tickets after a timeframe that makes full sale impossible, or that are unable to register unsold tickets within the authorized limit, must report the situation to the agency or service point to which they are affiliated in order to activate the regulated mechanisms for return and reimbursement analysis.
Reimbursement deadline
For Draw No. 6088, the deadline for formally expressing interest in reimbursement was set for Friday (July 31st), with a minimum of four hours' notice before the draw. This rule applies to both partial and full ticket refunds.
In cases where the tickets simply do not arrive by July 31st, the lottery unit may request a reimbursement assessment directly from the affiliated agency. To do so, it is necessary to prove the delay and return all the tickets for the draw in question.
Caixa Loterias concluded the statement by requesting the cooperation of lottery retailers "to ensure the resumption of sales of the Federal Lottery as well as to minimize any potential impact on customers."

2. Deliveries destined for the state of São Paulo, which account for approximately 60% of the total tickets in the shipment, have been mostly completed, and the remaining regions are in an advanced stage of service.
3 Despite all reasonable efforts, there may be an impact on deliveries to Lottery Units, especially draw number 6088, with the draw on 02/08/2026 (Sunday).
4. Therefore, cases where tickets are received within a timeframe that prevents full sale or where unsold stock is recorded up to the authorized limit must be reported to the relevant Agency/PA for the adoption of regulated return procedures and evaluation of reimbursement measures.
4.1 In case of full or partial return, the lottery operator must formally express interest in reimbursement at least 4 (four) hours before the draw, according to the regulated procedure. Specifically for Draw No. 6088, of 02/08/2026, the formal expression of interest must be made by Friday, July 31, 2026.
4.2 In cases of non-receipt by the indicated date, July 31, 2026, the Lottery Unit may request a reimbursement assessment from the affiliated agency, provided that the delay is proven and the total return of the tickets for the respective draw is observed.
