Racimec has products and systems for mobile phones.
Despite all these platforms being available, lottery operators in Brazil still do not use mobile phones to sell lottery products.
In Brazil, Racimec It has developed a system for selling bets using a mobile phone (prepaid or postpaid), with the opening of a lottery account, whose trade name can be defined in each case and according to the lottery that implements the new system. In addition, Simão Brayer's company also created two types of instant lotteries for mobile phones.
According to the president of Racimec, the virtual lottery account will be opened beforehand by the bettor, through a credit load acquired at establishments duly accredited by the State Lottery or capitalization company. This account will be used to debit the wagered amounts, as well as credit loads, recharges, and any prizes awarded.
“Today we have more than 190 million cell phones, of which more than 150 million are prepaid. These users who buy credits to make calls can also buy credits to bet on these platforms. In addition, the system allows the issuance of limited series for each game,” commented Simão.
190 million cell phones
Brazil, with 192 million inhabitants, ended August with 189,5 million cell phone lines, according to data from Anatel. In theory, this means a rate of 98 cell phones for every 100 Brazilians.
In reality, this density represents about 73% of the total Brazilian population. In other words, to obtain the true number of Brazilians with cell phones (an impressive 142 million), one must subtract from the 189,5 million active subscriptions those subscribers who have two or more cell phones. Furthermore, it is estimated that approximately 36 million lines have already been disconnected by the operators, but this information has not yet been reported to Anatel (the Brazilian telecommunications regulatory agency).
In August alone, 2,4 million lines were activated (a 1,3% increase compared to July). In 2010, a total of 15,5 million new lines were activated. This is the second-best result in history, surpassed only by the 17 million cell phones activated between January and August 2008. (Radar Online – By Lauro Jardim – Veja Magazine)
